Blogging Boomers Carnival #57
It's my turn to host the Blogging Boomers, so why not grab yourself a coffee, put your feet up for 15 minutes and enjoy a good read?
Despite legislation prohibiting it, age is a common factor in hiring decisions. Here are seven tips for middle aged job seekers from the guys at Life Two.
You may have discovered lots of new found freedom and confidence in the second phase of life, but how are you doing with the sexy part? Visit The Glam Gals at Fabulous after 40 to hear about a new book that’s helping boomer babes unleash their inner sirens!
The coming wave of boomer retirements, with about one in five Americans by 2030 retired, will change the labor force, the economy and the look of main street. Find out how over at So Baby Boomer.
If you had a child or know someone who had a child by assisted reproduction (from fertility treatments, to Donor Insemination, to In Vitro…), then you’ll want to hear what one blogger is saying about Cryo Kid, a new book on the changing family - head over to Gen Plus to find out.

In the vast closet of his memory banks, Ron at I Remember JFK recalls a kid in the neighborhood who was always asking if his parents would be interested in reading Grit. It was a dime, as he recalls, and his folks weren't interested. But many other parents were, and the kid had nice stuff that he had obtained for himself as a result of his entrepreneurship. Read Ron's reminiscences about Grit here
Cynthia at Don't Gel Too Soon reflects on the 80th birthday of a mentor and friend. Another way to take note of both the poignancy and wonders accompanying the passage of time.
Rhea at The Boomer Chronicles is one baby boomer still uses an address book and -- gasp -- a Rolodex. What are your thoughts on going electronic?
And, finally, a lady named Phyllis Hager contacted me the other day about the challenges she and her husband are facing since they retired together a year ago. Phyllis gave me permission to post an article she wrote which sums up many of the challenges experienced by couples who retire at the same time. Phyllis would love to talk to other newly-retired people who are experiencing similar challenges with retirement so, if that sounds like you, why not read her article and get in touch with her?

Hey,
I'm still trying to connect with this boomer carnival. Can somebody tell me what to do?
