If you live in the UK and plan on exploring your city once you retire (or someone else's city, for that matter), check out Walkit.com.
This is a great site that gives you a route map between any two points, and includes your expected journey time at a fast walking pace, a medium pace and a slow one. It also tells you the number of calories you're likely to burn, a step count and the amount of carbon you're saving by travelling on foot. It’s quick, free, healthy and green. What more could you ask?
Are you an executive who is due to retire in the near future? If so, would you please consider participating in my research?
I'd be happy to send you a downloadable copy of my book - 'ThoughtProvokers: Questions You Need To Ask Yourself BEFORE You Retire' in return for your help. Just email me with Retiring Executive in the title and I'll get back to you.
View one of the most unique and amazing rock climbing adventures of all time, when blind climber, Erik Weihenmayer, joined his friends, Mark Wellman - a paraplegic, and Hugh Herr - a double-leg amputee - to take on an 800 foot classic desert tower in Moab, Utah. Their experience led to the inception of No Barriers, a nonprofit organization which showcases cutting-edge ideas, approaches, and assistive technologies which enable people with challenges to break through personal barriers to live full and adventurous lives. To learn more about No Barriers and its ongoing world class festivals, go to www.nobarriersusa.org.
