Medicines that tackle multiple causes of unhealthy aging and help people live to 100 and beyond will probably be available for testing here in the UK from 2012, according to one of the world's leading age scientists.
These drugs are already being developed by pharmaceutical companies and Professor Nir Barzilai, from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, says he has a 'vision' of a once-daily pill which, when taken by a person in their 40s or 50s, will stave off the effects of old age and help us remain healthy and disease-free.
