Many people start their retirement business without giving any thought to what they eventually want to do with the business if and when they eventually decide to retire for good.
In order to build a business into something that you can sell once you decide to completely hang up your spurs, you need to think about how you can avoid selling your time and, instead, how you can 'productize' your service, i.e., how you can turn your service into something you can deliver without actually doing the work. (By this, I mean membership sites, software, and information products such as eBooks and eCourses, etc.)
To get you thinking along those lines, check out 5 Steps to Turning a Service Into a Product - So You Can Sell Your Business by Dr. Anita Campbell, the founder of Small Business Trends.
Even if you plan on working in your business until you drop, productizing your services and knowledge will enable you to achieve more freedom to enjoy your retirement business (and hopefully, more profits to fund all the fun things you want to do outside of your working hours).
