Blogging Boomers Carnival #201

Blogging boomers carnivalIt's my very great pleasure to host my fellow Blogging Boomers today.  We're a small, but devoted, band of bloggers who write about the trials, tribulations and triumphs of being a member of the baby boomer generation.  So without further ado...

Our newest Blogging Boomer, Tom over at Sightings at 60, is one of the millions of Baby Boomers trying to puzzle out when, why, and under what circumstances it's worth it to start taking Social Security early.

Last week the Accidental Locavore won a TupperClub dinner for two for writing a haiku on Eater.com about a bad dinner experience.  Her prize? Chef Michael White of Maera and Ai Fiori preparing a four course dinner in a "pop-up dining experience" for Tupperware's Art of Conversation dinners. See why it’s not your mother’s Tupperware.

SoBabyBoomer tells us that, as the 77 million U.S. Baby Boomers begin turning 65 this year, demand for artificial joints is exploding - with costs for all musculoskeletal conditions reaching over 7% of GDP.

A sense of humor can take you a long way when you start forgetting everything in midlife.  Here, the Midlife Crisis Queen has a laugh about taking it all too seriously!

As a journalist, Rhea at The Boomer Chronicles is concerned about how the news of the day is delivered in short form. What will happen to the 'human interest' stories that illuminate those headlines?  Read more at The Boomer Chronicles.

Nancy at Vaboomer has a video clip entitled: On the Ground in Libya - what it's like for the children.

And finally, there's my own offering...

Do you Squidoo?  Squidoo is a community website that allows users to create pages (which it calls lenses) about subjects of interest to them.  I Squidoo and, in this post, I point you in the direction of 5 of my own lenses which you might find useful.

That's all folks... Enjoy!

I just found your site tonight and am excited to find out what other boomers like myself are doing.

I like to blog about Life from a Boomers view.

Thanks for being a Booming Blogger!
